Why We're Called Room 72
Share
There's a reason we didn't just pick a cute name.
When we were thinking about what to call this brand, we kept coming back to a number. Not a trendy one, not a random one. A number that has lived inside Jewish mysticism for thousands of years. 72.
The 72 Names of Hashem
In Kabbalah, the 72 Names of God aren't names the way we usually think of them. They're 72 three-letter combinations of Hebrew letters, pulled from three consecutive verses in the book of Exodus (14:19-21). Each verse has exactly 72 letters. When arranged in a specific way, those letters form 72 divine sequences, each carrying its own energy and purpose.
These names are understood as channels, pathways through which divine light flows into the world. Each one holds something different: protection, healing, clarity, courage, compassion. They aren't magic words. They're living energies that connect us to something much bigger than ourselves.
The Zohar teaches that the universe was created through divine speech, through letters and names. The 72 Names are like remnants of that original creative force, still alive, still available.
Your Home Has a Room
We believe every home holds an energy. The way light falls in the morning. The objects on your shelves. The mezuzah by your door. The Judiaca Closet. These aren't just decorations. They're anchors. They hold something.
We named this brand Room 72 because we believe your home, and every room in it, has the capacity to hold that divine energy. That your space can be more than four walls. It can be a container for intention, for holiness, for connection to something greater.
We want the energy of those 72 names to actually live in your home. Woven into the objects you choose, the rituals you keep, the moments you slow down long enough to notice.
What We're Building
Room 72 is a place where sacred objects are made with intention. Where a ketubah isn't just a document but a piece of art that holds the energy of your marriage. Where a mezuzah is a daily reminder of who you are. Where a journal is an open invitation to speak directly to Hashem.
We want every piece that leaves our hands to carry a little more light. A little more intention. A little more holiness in your room.
Because you deserve that. Welcome to Room 72.
